Child Support rights?

So I've been watching a lot of Teen Mom lately and I seen how Farrah went to sos to file something because her babies father passed away so she could get money from the state, and how Maci and Chelsea are always going to court filing things to take their babies father to court. My father is not on my birth certificate and I haven't seen him since I was probably 1 or 2 I don't even know him or where he is, my grandparents HATED him and offered my mom enough money to raise me if she cut off all ties, but personally I think more money is always nice, and after all I am HIS responsibility too! I'm 17 and like I said have no idea where he is, do I have any options to start receiving child support?
