For world of warcraft i want the wrath of the lich king but not the burning crusade?

i have the original version of WOW and i want to get WOTLK bad but i can care less about the BC. so im just wondering if before i can get WOTLK do i need to have BC and or before cataclysm do i need the previous two? any way thanks.
